The Parents
It has always surprised me when I observe families on holidays. Their body language, facial expression and direct communication all differ to when they are in their home town/city. I often feel a sense of relief to absorb a feeling of relaxation when my parents take a break from their very busy work life. They have always believed in the hectic grinding work culture and I don't blame them as they were brought up to fight for what was best for them then, to eventually provide for their families. I am eternally grateful for all that they have been able to financially offer me whilst growing up. However, the sense of freedom and carefree is what I had craved the most. The time spent together and sharing simple moments of the mundane together attracted me more than anything else I have ever experienced with my parents. What are your priorities in life? Seeing them smile and enjoy each others' company fully under the blossoming sakura trees in Tokyo, Japan, has been beyond eyeopening and emotional for me.
