Terms and Conditions for Online Submission and Website Use
These terms and conditions govern your submission of artwork online and your use of our website. Please review them carefully before completing your entry as they establish the contract between you and the Zari Photo Prize.
Entry Fees
All entry fees are non-refundable.
Acceptable Mediums
Entries to the Zari Photo Prize must be photographic in nature and may include the following acceptable mediums:
All entries must be original works created by the entrant. The judging panel reserves the right to disqualify any submission that does not adhere to the spirit of photographic practice or the competition theme.
Submission Guidelines
Artists may submit up to 10 entries of original works created within the last three years, ensuring full copyright ownership of the images. Images once printed should be of A3 size to fit in frames provided by the Zari Photo Prize
For exhibition purposes, please provide an estimated sale price for each work, including VAT if applicable. This price should reflect what a gallery would typically charge, including the Zari Photo Prize’s 25% sales commission. We recommend sensible pricing.
Selection Process
The competition involves a two-stage selection process:
Stage 1 (Online): Our jury will pre-select photographs based on submitted images. These images must accurately represent the entered works, which must be available for exhibition if shortlisted. This stage includes an online review of all submissions.
Stage 2 (Finalists): All shortlisted work will be individually assessed by the judges, who will then select the Finalists.
Stage 3 (Final Selection): From the finalists, winners for each category will be chosen by the judges, except for the publics choice which will be determined by a online public vote.
Exhibition Readiness
All Prints must available to fit in a A3 sized frame provided by the Zari Photo Prize.
Judging and Exhibition
The organizers and jury reserve the right to accept or reject any photographs for the show. We will not exhibit works deemed of poor craftsmanship or significantly different from their digital representation.
The judges’ decisions are final and not open to correspondence.
Photographers are responsible for all costs related to the delivery, shipping, and packaging of their works, including any customs charges and duties. We recommend photographers insure their works as the Zari Photo Prize, and its partners will not be liable for loss or damage.
Copyright and Reproduction Rights
The copyright remains with the photographer. By entering, you grant the Zari Photo Prize the right to reproduce your work for competition-related press, publicity, and promotional purposes.
Data Protection
In line with the Data Protection Act 1998, we will securely hold your data and use it solely for administering the Zari Photo Prize. It will not be shared with third parties.
Disqualification
We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these terms.
Sales and Collection
All exhibited works must be for sale, with the Zari Photo Prize retaining a 25% commission on sold pieces. Artists or their representatives must collect unsold or unselected works from the designated collection point.
Shipping Costs
All shipping costs are responsibility of the Photographer. Regarding return shipping, if the Prints remain unsold at the end of the exhibition, the photographer will absorb all costs associated with returning the pieces. This includes packaging, handling, and transportation expenses. The Gallery will pack the works in their original packaging. The Gallery will coordinate with the photographer to facilitate the return process but will not cover any of the incurred costs. Photographers are encouraged to plan and budget for these potential expenses in advance.
These terms are governed by English law, with the UK courts having exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.
